- Covid hit travel hard. Surveys show a major comeback but war and CEO cost-cutting are headwinds. Yet everyone agrees that business meetings are more effective in person.
- AI will be the biggest disruptor. Self-service already overtook phone calls
- Complexity (different currencies, languages, systems) and uncertainty (weather, quarantines, regs, etc.) keep travel agents as critical players. AI is making them more effective. 60% of business travel requests come via email, and Amgine’s AI automates processes across factors in corporate policies
- Large travel managers are expected to provide sophisticated service online but with proper offline communication. Travel managers now have a “duty of care” per Covid to take care of of travelers.

3/9 “DIVERSE ALLOCATION” TAKEAWAYS

One striking takeaway from our "Diverse Allocation" Deep Dive (recording, podcast) came from Vijay Mehta backed by Ziff Brothers FO - he finds it harder to find minority-owned businesses in which to invest ($10-30M) as "there is no ecosystem and bank that specializes in minority business enterprises." 360 One Firm (361Firm) will help co-create that ecosystem. We showcased here black/brown/female-led funds and founders plus allocators, and will keep doing it, e.g. in Chicago's "South Side" May 3 before the May 4 Impact Summit - see https://lnkd.in/damERX5f.

1) Deals/Funds. Below is an excerpt from our no-name Shared Deal Pipeline of recently onboarded funds/deals. Upon onboarding a deal or fund via , our team reviews them but the Shared Pipeline often leads to “inbound” inquiries from the community which focuses us even more on certain entries. If we think a fund/deal might be compelling, we set up a Zoom to learn more and might discuss how we might act as a placement agent. We can send an MOU of basic terms. If agreed, we engage in due diligence in association with our broker-dealer Stonehaven. If we enter into a Mandate Agreement, we then can show it to suitable investors and can make use of our extensive network and 100+ bankers.
