Takeaways from the March 11 AgTech "Deep Dive" on scalability, sustainability and salvage:
- Ag/F&B is underinvested (<1% vs. 8%+ of GDP)
- In 2020, ~$30B+ invested in AgTech (new farm systems, AI, robotics, storage, e-groceries, etc.)
- Broken ag value chains with huge inefficiencies, particularly in EM, ways to fix including via media
- Silicon Valley investing in deep tech in decontamination, molecular diagnostics, plant-based protein
