Stephen Burke discussed pressing economic issues in the US and Europe, including debt, immigration, taxation, infrastructure spending, climate transition, and tariffs. He highlighted the challenges of balancing spending needs with inflation concerns, particularly with central banks' limited ability to cut interest rates. Both incumbents and opposition parties propose remedies that could exacerbate these issues, such as increased spending on defense, infrastructure, and climate transition, as well as tariffs on China.
